U.S. Women’s Basketball Wins Olympic Gold For The 7th Straight Time

The American women’s basketball team was unmatched throughout the Olympics in Tokyo. The United States won the gold medal and carried on an incredible run of Olympic wins and triumphs, overwhelming host nation Japan 90–75.

Since the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, the United States has won 55 straight games. This is an incredible streak of victories. The United States won their sixth gold medal in the Olympics with this triumph.

The team’s members are a who’s who of the WNBA, led by seasoned players Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird, who each won their fifth gold medal, making them the first basketball women to do so.
